Writer For Hire, Too*

Have you been enjoying this website? If you have, and if you've been reading it very carefully, you'd know that in my previous career, I was a writer. (In my first, I was an actor/singer. Bodywork is #3. There, now you know everything.)
What I've written.
I worked on Madison Ave. (with Julio DiIorio at DiIorio, Wergeles) as a copywriter for a couple of years in the mid '80s; then in Burlington, VT (at Kelliher/Samets, now KSV Communicators) as a copywriter and associate creative director for five years; and then I wrote freelance (as Words by Yavelow) from my bedroom loft in the woods, usually with an orange tabby named Rumba on my lap (the same cat you can read about in my book, Embodiment!) I did the freelance marketing thing for about six years, until I developed a social conscience.
People have paid me to write all kinds of sell copy: short and long; hard sell and soft; product naming and positioning; image stuff and direct marketing... My specialties were clever names, and making complicated things (products, services, ideas) sound easy to understand, compelling, and beautiful. Kind of like I hope I've done with bodywork on this website.
Who I wrote for.
I did a lot of work for companies that made edible things (food, not underwear), sports equipment, educational institutions, financial products, hospitality, and health-related businesses. It's a long list to read -- but if you really want to, click here.
What I want to write now, and who I want to write for.
If you're a nice person with something good to say or offer -- and the need for some help putting it all into beautiful, clear (or clever) and compelling words... I'd love to talk with you. Please send me an e-mail by clicking here.
* I'm also available as a photographer, and to sing and do voiceovers (but I haven't gotten to that yet on this website -- which, honestly, is about bodywork).
