Healing with Gratitude

Is someone you know upset, injured, or in pain? This quick, easy touch is one of the simplest, most basic healing practices I know -- and it can often be a lot of help.
- Calm & ground yourself. Then ask the other person if it’s OK for you to touch them.
- Rest the palm of your hand somewhere on their body. (It doesn’t have to be on the place that hurts; it could be anywhere. Don’t press or squeeze or massage, just relax your hand.)
- Tune into a feeling of gratitude. Really feel it inside yourself -- in your heart, your belly, all over your body.
- imagine gratitude spreading into the person you’re touching. Imagine it fills them up, and overflows.
- Let your breath be slow and full, and stay with it for a while, until one of you feels done.
- Then simply take your hand away.
